This was my first Bollywood film I ever watched - renting it on DVD from Netflix years ago because of its Oscar nomination.
Finally, I was able to watch it again. I purchased it from India, not realizing the disc was PAL format. Tried several things, and finally bought an inexpensive region free DVD Player, yes, just to watch this movie again.
It was worth it. It's just as wondrous as I remembered -- and just as bloody long. You certainly feel like you've lived through three days of cricket playing.
The soundtrack is one of A R Rahman's absolute best. Aamir Khan is completely in his prime and just fantastic in this. The story of a group of villagers agreeing to an arrogant... |
