Wonderful performances especially Rosamunde Pike. Parts like that don't come along every day.
Plenty of twists and turns to hold interest, even with a long running time. The Trent Reznor score alone creeps you out.
I had not read the book, as we actually had a missing woman in our family (presumed dead, the husband likely murdered her, no body found). Having lived through some of what was on screen, I found the representation of the media frenzy to be completely accurate. And practicing what you say before you go on one of those crazy shows, too. I had trepidation about seeing this film, but a friend reassured me it was very different than our real situation. Had a few flashback... |
